7 Tips for a Safe Trip

Vacations are a reason for celebration and relaxation, but it is crucial to stay vigilant and keep your money and bank accounts safe before, during, and after your travels.

  1. Be careful when booking online – When planning your vacation, choose trusted websites to avoid falling victim to scammers.
  2. Add your BFSFCU cards to your Digital Wallet – While on vacation, TAP to PAY with your BFSFCU Credit or Debit Cards using Apple Pay®, Google Pay™ and Samsung Pay®.
  3. Use BFSFCU’s Digital Banking app1 – A great way to monitor your accounts on the go.
  4. Set up alerts – Located under Settings in Digital Banking. Get account activity notifications to help guard against potential fraud.
  5. Look for secure internet connection – During your vacation, use only password protected Wi-Fi networks or even better, rely on your carrier’s 4G or 5G network.
  6. Keep your personal belongings safe – When leaving the hotel room for the day, lock up all your important travel documents in the hotel safety lock box.
  7. Check your statements – After you return home, verify your statements to make sure all charges are accurate and as expected. Notify BFSFCU if you find something unusual.
